Drinking nicely now, but still has a lot left to it. Nice nose, but the finish is a bit hot. Moderately firm tannins. Dark fruit- black cherry and cassis. Followed by smoke and spice on the finish. Hints of leather as well. Just needs to calm down a bit still. Ran this through the Vinturi and into a small decanter. Drink now-2020.
Day two after being vacuum sealed: This has started to fade on the following day. The alcohol is less prominent and it feels smoother. In light of this, I'd suggest a good decant and drinking over the next 3-5 years.
- Ruby color with slow forming legs. It's balanced with a full body. Coarse texture with a long finish - Definitely one of my favorite California Cabs. Lots of wonderful oak. Berries galore and a beautiful round finish.
Very nice nose of dark fruits, currant, spice and oak. Tannins are nicely integrated with a smooth, long finish. Drinking perfectly right now. Silver Oak to me is always so consistent. Doesn't matter the year.
