Had it with steak at my friend's place. 1 hour decant.
nose: beautiful complex dusty nose. This is not your over the top fruit nose but I feel that there is a level of complexity here that you do not find in most shyrahs. Fruit forward but not over the top fruit forward. You definitelly get some leather, cigar box and of course balck berries. Very nice.
Taste: Big, bold but very smooth. Tons of dark fruit but there is a very nice level of complexity and it is not a fruit bomb. Very good balance. Very smooth tannins and with a nice spicy lingering finish. Not a blockbuster finish but still quite delicious. Through the course of the night the wine puts on a little weight , the fruit emmerges and as well complexity. A very nice chalky consistency emmerges. Excellent. Very good. I have had the 2005 shyrah and I have to ay that his is by far the best one. pick it up if you can find it.

Turnbull Winery (Napa Valley, CA): Opulent notes of plum jam, vanilla, and black currants. Showy and easy to like. A tad austere on the finish, however. 88-89 points.

Fruit and peppery flavor was weak now. Alas...another wine we waited too long to drink before cellar tracker.

Very fruit forward, excellent nose. Finish was weak and flat.
