  I am an IDIOT.
  Opened with a Durand, which was necessary as the bottom of the cork dropped into this. Zero nose. Almost zero taste - after an hour open, it resolved into a dead zone with a papery finish, the solid, respectable finish for a once great wine. It was dead. Play taps. Open and consume a different bottle of wine, with the girlfriend.
  But then. Have a sip for the hell of it 4 hours later. it's a different wine. Totally resolved tannins. Smooth, deep, weirdly youthful taste. Totally alive and really sneaky. This is a practical joke of a wine. Utterly youthful and yet 30 years old. Needs a decant. Tastes like the spikier parts of a cabernet sauvignon. Great.
