  • Certainly not the grandest of grand crus, but if this is a village level (as suggested below), it is a mighty fine village wine that has taken the last 19 years in its stride. After experimenting (unsuccessfully) last night with something new from a region I don't normally drink, this felt like a reminder of why I love red Burgundy so much. I think it was £42 in 2020 - I thought at the time that it was suspiciously cheap & only bought a bottle. At that price I would fill my boot given another chance. Score maybe a bit mean...v.good, going on v.v. good. Drink dates are way off, this is comfortably in its drinking window - drinking now, but will last throught 25 / 26 easy

  • Not a grand cru, this is a very good village level for intensity and density (because longevity of a wine doesn't make it 1er or grand cru so yes it's possible a village can last for many many years). Light licorice notes on palate. Some earth, red fruited. Fully mature, but will go for some more years
