nose was very open and lovely, with leather, bacon, farmy, and floral notes like violet. Also a little smoked meat later. A beautiful wine to drink now.

Light ruby to pink/brick at rim. Stemmy/grassy nose that also has sweet red fruits and a dusty/earthy quality. A bit sauvage, but it works well. Complex more than pure but errors on the good side of being rustic. I admit to liking this a lot, though I don't think it is for everyone. Lovely fruit comes to the fore on the palate. There is good viscosity in this light bodied wine. Wonderful attack, it falls off on the finish showing a touch of bitterness. This keeps it from being top drawer village. It does round out a bit with significant air time. As it is, a very satisfying wine that is drinkable now, with a brutish edge, that should improve over the short term yet will never be truly fine. I almost like it better when I a not thinking too critically about it. (89)

a little leather, fruits like cherries and plums. Nice acidity here, and drinking well now.

Nose of leather, game, red fruits like strawberries, mint and exotic spices. Lovely to drink but slightly acidic on the palate.
