Dark cherry fruit, a slight earthy smell gave this wine some old world character. Amazing tannins opened up after 20min. The fruit was strong to begin with and faded. Probably past prime by now but still a great drinker.
Almost black color. Huge concentration on the nose of blackberry fruit reduction (blackberry jam), blueberry, and spicy red pepper flake. Medium bodied, with blueberries on the palate, and finishes with medium dryness, a lack of tannins, and tons of fruit reduction. Not a very long, nor complex finish, but very tasty stuff; quite delicious. The age on this wine has definitely improved it.
From northeastern spain, tis was a great wine - fruit forward with full-bodied structure, A hint of that Spanish earthiness added to the depth and makes me think Napa cabs are missing the boat. Awesome wine at 20 bucks. Start the search parties...
