  • This wine is drinking very well now. Bigger than I expected but with classic Willamette profile. Earthy on the front with a slightly spicy finish. Nice dark fruit.

  • See note from 6/7/2013 - another excellent bottle of this wine which has finally come around.

  • Wine was paper filtered and decanted into a narrow decanter; leaving a thin coating of sediment with some pebbles and a yielding a deep crimson liquor of fragrant wine smelling of dark fruits, cherries and spices. This wine has really turned the corner and become an explosively delicious Pinot with dark cherry and currant flavors bursting on the palate and a long finish with complex flavors of cola mixing with the fruit. We had a second bottle the following night with even more open fruit flavor. This is the time to drink these if you have 'em. I think it's at peak.

  • Since the previous bottle has seemed tired and thin, we did not filter or use an aerating decaanter, but, instead opened the bottle and poured it into a narrow Riedel decanter that came as a freebie with some Grand Cru glasses. This turned out to be a good choice. The wine was a deep ruby red and it had strong odors of sour cherry and ripe fruit. On the palate it was much tastier -- rich blue fruit with a nice underlying acidity and a bit of spine in the finish.

While still not a great wine, this wine, with better treatment, is certainly good enough to drink with a meal or with strong cheese (which is how we had it).

  • Filtered and decanted leaving no sediment and a liquor of bright ruby red. This was a very thin wine without a lot of character. It had some fruit, and it had some earthy spine, but, all in all it was pleasant and unmemorable. I've got 10 more and I hope it improves now that it's been moved to a slightly warmer location.
