I'm a sucker for Pinotage and this has all the characteristic signs. It smells like band-aids and stinky cheese. lightly fruity, but not so jammy. Dusty tannins. Finish is rather short with hints of red apple.

I love pinotage normally, but not this one. Almost too pinotagey, if that makes sense. There's kind of a bright, somewhat hot emptiness to it that almost takes over. There's some interesting background flavors of cooked plantains with cinnamon, but that bright something overpowers it.

Appearance: Clear, medium garnet. Nose: Clean, slight waft of Pinot funk, candy, tea, berries. Palate: light bodied but with an unsual texture and weight, smoky, spicy, licorise, moderately dry, good finsih with moderate tannins. Enjoyable. Good value. Grilled meat wine. 13.5% alco, screw (D 6, F 5.5; SoPo)

Ok color - a little light. BACON!!! This wine is full of smoke, bacon and BBQ flavors. The BBQ and smoke is also there on the nose. Very little fruit but more of these outdoor cooking flavors which are overwhelming.. Interesting wine but not sure I would get it again.

Not very good or complex. Just sorta dull and heavy.
