Tasted this at the domaine. Such a rich, ripe spätlese. It had a surprisingly high acidity, and wasn't quite as plump as I'd expected. I think the Kesselstatt style is just built to age - they can be a little boring when they're young.

perhaps a touch darker gold than last year. acidity less prominent and perhaps a bit deficient. lush, sweet, fruity-floweriness in nose with typical scharz elegance and a hint of pineapple; but less well-defined and refined than egon kabinett drunk alongside. delicious, markedly sweet, appley flavour with good grip, but a bit lacking in liveliness. rich, aromatic finish.

light gold. classic steely-citrusy sharz nez with good amount of botrytis and rather lush ripe white peach note; round, warm spiciness as airs. lively and luscious, almost creamy, delicious flavour with good acidity and notable sweetness and smoky-slatey component. fine long fade and aromatic remains.
Deep gold. Low toned, even musky but not in an impure way. Sweet and long, giving a distinct impression of high must-weight, ending with a baked apple note.
