Drunk this too soon/too young - even at 10 yrs old. Annoying, because this was my only bottle of the 2005. I should have waited until 2018-2020.
Intense dark fruits on nose, damsons. Floury tannins in mouth, a rich style, great fruit, a bit of bitter choc. Acid still fresh. Long flavours. Finishes with some oak and baccy. Better with food than without, I think.
Value for Money? Paid approx £14 for it in 2010, so very good VFM indeed. Defo buy again. The 2008's currently available.

Haven't touch this wine in 5 years. Needs a good hour decant to blow off the initial funk. Color is a deep ruby red. Dense nose of black fruit, chocolate and some earthiness. Black pepper and smoke with dark fruit and pencil shavings across the palate. Medium to full body, with a lingering finish. Better than I expected it to be.

Can't deny how well this is still holding up!!! Surprisingly good first glass after pop and pour but after a 30-40 decant things greatly improved.
