Interesting nose with lots of fruit, berries, and floral notes, as well as some baking spices. Good acidity with nice structure on the palate, more fruit flavors as well as some savory and wood notes. Nice finish. Lovely wine that's a privilege to taste and will likely continue to improve. Just like the Bouchard Reignots next to it, it seems quite approachable for 2005.

Slow-ox 1 hr, tasted over 2 hrs -deep dark red purple like plum skin -brooding dark berry plum -med/med+ acidity, med/med- weight dense sour earth and fading black fruit mid-palate finishes with a brisk acid zing saline and faint licorice, med/med- tannins -another dark brooding '05 from Truchot that has more power and seriousness than prior vintages but nowhere near the aromatic fireworks and delight, reaching an early point on the mature plateau

Pnp. Red cherry, spice, cinnamon, and wild berries. Palate is still very primary and slightly alcoholic but the substance is almost grand cru quality. I have always found his wine having a lot of structure. This is a classic msd with some earth and meatiness. Truchots wine can age very well but this is still a baby. The layers and sweetness have yet to be fully expressed. Good potential.

Youthful and primary and all about the ripe cherry fruit. Light and elegant, but it doesn't really have the complexity and earthiness I would expect from Truchot and right now comes off as one-dimensional. Got slightly better in the glass so the optimist in me says this may develop nicely, but the pessimist says it's just straightforward, though enjoyable.

Very pretty; there's the typical Truchot lightness and fragrance, a pure red fruited scent combining with floral, earthy and higher-toned spicy notes, but at the same time it seems to be holding a lot in reserve right now. It's certainly quite enjoyable, at its most fragrant the moment the cork's pulled but getting more silken-textured and finessed with air though not as aromatically expressive later on. This should be amazing with time, but no complaints about being able to enjoy a bottle now.
