  • Bought in about 2001/2 when Grand Cru Burgundy was still affordable. Showing some amber notes in colour. Fine sour cherry nose with hints of menthols complexity after time in the glass. Very nice sour cherry fruit. Approachable now but still quite simple, complexity a few years away yet. Good wine.

  • Dark coloured with orange rim. Very pinot aromatics, youthful and vibrant with red and dark cherry, forest floor, sweet spice and some animal scents. Medium bodied, excellent balance between the acid and the smooth tannins and long finish. Quite youthful for its age. 92-93

  • Slow to open but after 1 hours STUNNING, can't say super star but definitely Elite status. Old school characteristics with earthiness, smoke and red meant (blood). Very floral nose of cherries and black fruit. Balance is the key here with all the moving parts integrated and presented in elegant, expressive fashion. If it lacked anything it would be more complexity but outstanding and a wine to definitely enjoy. I ate with grilled duck breast and it was an impeccable compliment.

  • Served at our 1999 Grand Cru Dinner. Mid cherry red colour. The nose on this wine was pretty with plenty of red berry fruits, cherry and touches of spice and earth. The palate was medium weight with very attractive fruit and a fine finish. There was an earthy, musty character that seemed to tighten up the finish but overall a very enjoyable example.

  • Took to SER in Arlington for dinner. The wine was open about 1.5 hours. Dark color with rust at the rim reflecting its age. Medium weight. Dark fruits in balance with acidity and resolved tannins. Very elegant, silky smooth mouth feel. The wine did lack some complexity I was hoping to find but that may be that it actually is still somewhat young and not in full expression. Excellent wine which I will follow over the next two bottles I have. While wanting to be a super star it didn't quite make that status but definitely a wine to engage and enjoy.
