Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 92 points

  • Day later from memory. Served double blind. Unmistakable pedigree, seemed automatically 1er Cru Burgundy with some age. Only opened a half hour, it was very primary, the nose fairly muted at cellar temperature. There were intense kirsch and cherry flavors with a mineral vein, lovely texture on the palate, well integrated tannins. The intensity threw me and I guessed '10 Cote de Nuit 1er Cru. Oh well. That 's '05 for you. As I glance down at the Community Drink date it says 2011 to 2015. That's just wrong. If well stored I think this has an easy 5-7 years left, or more...

  • Up against one premier cru and one grand cru this wine was the surprise of the night. Soft and elegant nose, the quality shone through with berry on the pallet. This wine opened up in the glass and has a lot of time left 10+ years before it's really singing. Be patient.
