  • How lucky can a man be? This is how much:
Tasted blind, we all bet that it had to be a German speaking wine... (but we said "Not a Mosel"...)
The fantasticly balanced nose showed some honey, apricot, passion fruit, lemon, Apple and even Ananas. The palate is even better, delicate sweatness not more, perfect balance of the great limey acidity, white fruit, citrus. The finish is very long, showing the aging potential of this hlaf bottle treasure...
One of the best Eisweins I ever tasted and probably most balaced one at this age, it has ages to go, but great now as well. Difficult to rate it now, probably a 95-97 pointer.

  • Wow!! Holy Sh&!! This is perfection. This is a really easy wine to review. Apple, sugar, balance, perfect layers, yeast, and a wonderful crisp, and complex finish. There are very few things that reach this level of perfection. A perfect treat. This is the reason that German wines do matter.

  • Wowzers! This is my first icewine in a long time and now that I am tasting it, I am not sure why I don't have more icewine in my cellar. Golden straw in color. Aromas of pineapple, honeycomb, and lemon drops. The acidity is super high and disguises a lot of the sweetness right now (and makes my mouth water like crazy). The acidity is sufficiently high that I feel I can't really get an accurate read of the weight or richness of the wine... not a bad thing... but this thing is a baby and shouldn't be touched again for another five years to check up on it.
