  • Better than my last bottle seven years ago. Bottled under screw cap which I suspect makes wine age extra slowly. Color is light yellow and the wine shows good freshness. Dominated by sweetness and honey notes but it all works. Comparable to a mid level Sauternes. No rush on these.

  • Prior bottle was two years ago and this wine remains in a very good spot. Apricot, orange, pineapple and minerals on the nose. A bit above medium bodied with peach and apricot upfront, moving to mango, pineapple and yellow peach through the middle. There's a lot of richness through the middle, but no overt honey notes this time, which left the wine feeling more youthful. Still shows very good acidity on the backside along with tart citrus qualities. The acidity in particular leaves the fruit feeling defined and the richness balanced. Really impressed with how this wine has maintained such a high quality level and still showing no signs of decline or fading. I would absolutely buy more of this wine if the opportunity presented.

  • Monthly Tasting Group: Champagne and Sushi (Sakana, St. Paul, MN): Deep gold color. Drank a small glass over 2o minutes. A couple years have slipped away since we had this last. Still rocking it today with fusil, apple cobbler, apricot, oily, delicate florals, great acidity, long and lively. Love this! 93+pts.

  • This was as toothsome and luscious as its peacock label. At age 15 still sweet enough for dessert but the balancing acidity makes it a good match for a plate of full-flavored cheeses. Not the complexity of an aged Huet or Foreau from an excellent year, but packs a tremendous amount of pleasure.

  • -- cracked and poured --
    -- tasted non-blind over 2 to 3 hours --

NOSE: aged Nose: light petrol; intense, sweet honeysuckle; light squash note; medium+ expressiveness.

BODY: rich, dark golden yellow color; full bodied.

TASTE: sweet; relaxed; apricot; hints of roasted celery and hay; pretty good acidity; drinking very well now, and I don't see room for further improvement, for my preferences. This bottle was cellared by me since 2010, when it was purchased from K&L. Drink Now and over the next five years.
