  • Red ruby colour. Smells of herbs, tar and rasberries. It is medium bodied, still a bit tannic but I would not age any longer as fruit is disapearing. I had this with cashew and brazil and almonds. This wine needs heavy meal I feel. Alittle bitter for my taste! but decent wine.

  • Very nice for the price. Beautiful purple color, aromatic with soil, tart cherry, herbs -- very Rhone-like aromas. Medium to full-bodied, relatively acidic, and loads more tart red fruit. Pair with Mediterranean-type cuisine.

Color/Appearance: 5/5 -- Ruby rred color, slightly translucent around the edge, giving a little earthy look to the glass
Nose/Bouquet: 13/15 -- Great nose. Very full. Wants to be vegetal. Wants to be fruity. Gets a little salty.
Flavor: 7/10 -- Dark, earthy flavors, some cocoa, tobacco, with strawberry and black pepper. Been uncorked for about 3 hours and it's still got a little bit of astringence, but that goes away pretty quickly in the glass. Alcohol is well balanced.
Finish: 8/10 -- Finish trumps taste here for me. Really pleasant, lingering finish that echos the flavors well. Tannins come through and give some dryness to the finish.
Potential/Quality: 7/10 -- The nose of this wine is an absolute joy. This is very drinkable now, but I could see it hanging around and still being a joy to consume 5 years from now. Outstanding QPR for a sub $15USD wine.

  • Elegant and delicious, this is a medium to full bodied wine with lots of character. It has fruit and herbs on the nose and cherry and meat flavours on the palate. Interesting and complex it would be hard to tire of drinking this beauty. A real good value.
