Tasted by Anonymous on 2/5/2010 & rated 92 points: excellent performance for this wine. doesn't go super deep, yet the balance and freshness was tuned in, especially when it warmed up as i chilled it too aggressively prior to opening. (124 views)
Tasted by gbauer on 1/31/2010: At Pratt's. Drinking very well. (121 views)
Tasted by Jwobkk on 1/4/2010 & rated 94 points: Super stuff. Vibrant nose. Nice yeast, toast and almonds on the palate. Complex and rich. Perfect with food. I did not want this bottle of small bubbles to stop flowing. Cared for perfectly at Eleven Madison Park. (503 views)
Tasted by manga on 1/1/2010 & rated 94 points: Golden yellow. Exotic nose: pear, starfruit, bacon fat and flowers. Palate has great cut with and tropical and starfruit. Graphite like minerality with loads of extract. Leaves the mouth with a refreshing tang but is well buffered with oiliness and crushed rocks. Superb right now. (320 views)
Tasted by amateurwino on 12/30/2009 & rated 93 points: Nose of pistachio nuts and a touch of honey; palate is similar - good acidic backbone underlies dewy honey/butterscotch sweetness. Delicious. (553 views)
Tasted by christopher wish on 12/29/2009 & rated 94 points: drinking really well now. opens up quickly and powerfully but with balance. I suspect this wine will peak in 3-4 years. (499 views)
Tasted by beezer6 on 12/3/2009 & rated 93 points: Binny's Champagne Gala Tasting (Binny's on Clark - Chicago, IL) (604 views)
Tasted by gbauer on 11/29/2009: Slight, if any, oxidation. Toast and hazelnuts on the nose. In the mouth, some sweet white fruit, good acidity and a long finish. Nice. (812 views)
Tasted by Wprest on 11/27/2009 & rated 95 points: (702 views)
Tasted by Richard Jennings on 11/18/2009 & rated 93 points: Beltramo's Annual Champagne Tasting Event (Beltramo's in Menlo Park, California): Light yellow color; nice toast, smoke, yeast nose; tasty, rich but balanced, creamy lemon, yeast, mineral palate; medium-plus finish 93+ pts. (1068 views)
Tasted by dickjokes on 11/15/2009 & rated 94 points: Yeasty, almonds, honeydew, honey. Fantastic evolution in the mouth, soft but weighty, like new shag carpet. Great body, really delicious, complex, my favorite of the line-up. (988 views)
Tasted by eyeguy on 11/8/2009 & rated 92 points: Excellent (1109 views)
Tasted by subtlet on 11/6/2009 & rated 93 points: 11/2009 Champagne Tasting at Renaissance Wines (Renaissance Premium Wines and Cigars, Orenco Station, Oregon): Great delicate yeast on the nose along with subtle apple scents, hazelnut, and a bit of cucumber. This wine is just delicious with light, bright acidity and ripe apples right on the front. It's incredibly delicate and smooth all the way through. Lovely grape skins appear on the mid palate with bread flavors, and some strong acidity that slowly evolves to dry everything out on the finish. Wonderful! (1090 views)
Tasted by lumpyelbow on 10/20/2009 & rated 92 points: Buttered toast with a hint of orange. I loved it. (1354 views)
Tasted by jdietz on 10/11/2009 & rated 90 points: Restrained, but good fruit. Perhaps a bit overshadowed by the 2002 Billiot. (1372 views)
Tasted by Richard Jennings on 9/28/2009 & rated 92 points: Institute of Masters of Wine Annual Champagne Tasting (Ferry Plaza Building, San Francisco, California): Light yellow color; yeasty, toast nose; toast, tart lemon, yeast and mineral palate; medium finish (1640 views)
Tasted by BrandrB on 9/28/2009 & rated 94 points: Masters of Wine Champagne Tasting (San Francisco, CA): Fantastic, this was just singing tonight! Just as good - perhaps even better - than two years ago. Straw-yellow color. Hugely expressive nose: fresh baked brioche with smoke spice. Full yet elegant doughy lemon mouthfeel. Long finish. Simply an incredible value for vintage Champagne of this caliber. The great acidity indicates to me that there’s plenty of age left in this wine and I suspect this will be drinking quite nicely until 2015 or beyond. Vintage Blanc de Blancs at its best! (1414 views)
Tasted by spacewrangler on 8/10/2009: Very rich and complex, though still comes off on the young side. Yeast-a-rama, with orange and honey notes. You can almost chew this bad boy, great stuff. (1718 views)
Tasted by dickjokes on 8/1/2009 & rated 92 points: Smells of crunchy pie crust with hints of white frosting, green apple and crispy hair (like an 80's glam band just had all of their heads permed in your hair salon), also some honey. Huge granny smith apple on the palate, tapers off at a nice rate through the fairly long finish. The pie crust makes a short appearance as well. Nice acidity on this wine, should hold up for some time. Great zip from the acidity, nice weight, nice finish, clean and delicious. Very enjoyable. (1695 views)
Tasted by dbp on 8/1/2009 & rated 90 points: Blind Champagne - Dom Pérignon loses to Cava AGAIN (My House (Portland, OR)): Overall, disappointing. Hardly showing anything on the nose, and most agreed. I kept going back to it in order to deduce SOMETHING interesting (other than the burnt hair theory that was circulating the room, which I did get a bit of), but couldn't. The mid-palate was quite nice, showing nice clean fresh berries, lemon, and other tight fruits. Really nice acid on the finish.... this was good, just lacking much dimension. Definitely feels like this needs another 10 years to really shine. (1777 views)
Tasted by stocksandbondage on 7/17/2009 & rated 93 points: Outstanding. Still extremely youthful. Fresh, clean scents of bread dough and lemon creme. Lively acidity and crish flavors of lemon and grapefruit. Lots of complexity and minerality. Hints of fino sherry in the close. (1676 views)
Tasted by Employee500 on 6/28/2009 & rated 93 points: Near-perfect balance but a tiny bit "boring", especially in comparison to the admittedly older 1990 version of this. Still outstanding and thoroughly enjoyable in its own right... (1825 views)
Tasted by Greg Pierce on 6/14/2009: No formal note, but this was, again, great. (1777 views)
Tasted by trankin on 5/29/2009 & rated 95 points: SOBER tasting - beautiful, elegant champagne. Perfect starter. (1812 views)

(CHARLES HEIDSIECK BLANC DE MILLENAIRE) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-beautiful golden; NOSE-tighter, little grapefruit, dried toast, little hazelnut; TASTE-nice sour pear coming through, but it completely disappears ("Caspar Syndrome"), a lack of finish, shocking for such a good producer; WS-95; GV-88  88 points

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Click for a list of bestselling items from all of France. Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (comprised of the towns of Rheims, Epernay, and Ay) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and winemaking traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range from the basic brut (often blends of several vintages), single vintage champagnes, and rose.
