Lizzie St Supper Club (Lizzie St, London): A wine we have had a good dozen times over the last decade ( Papies 92-94) and dare we say this our last bottle was the best we have ever had. Easily WOTN of our dinner and ever so surprised by how fresh and energetic it still is. Soft smoky edge from the oak in its elevage, bright mineral , soft richness and just enough of a secondary side to add to the complexity . Impressive and this has another decade of life we felt.95-96

almost no atmospheres of pressure left (cork BARELY expanded on opening) had on xmas eve. Sarahs birthyear bottle. so sentimental bonus point given. Aged notes with cheese notes surprisingly mono-dimensional with almonds predominant: but surprising dearth of butter/toast notes. less surprisingly no primary fruit beyond a shadow of green apple / stoney citrus.
Im not too well versed in vintage Champagnes but I’d say Drink up!

I would be struggling to pick this up blind as a BdB. Drinkable but not representative of a properly-aged version of this
