decanted for 2 hours. drinking beautifully right now. may be at or close to peak. balanced dark fruits and tannins. classic barnyard earthy funk which I love. Paired nicely with grilled brisket. Drink up.

Figs, tobacco smoke, hints of plums, black olives and cedar, ripe fruit but no mens cooked, no need to fear the vintage. Clearly one of the better 2003s. Not the most complex wine but definitely not negatively linear, just very tasty and approachable. Along with La Lagune, Sociando and Malescot Exupery one my reasonably priced but excellent go to left bankers. A great time to open a bottle of these.

Poured a glass via Coravin to enjoy with my steak and onions tonight Let it breathe for about an hour and enjoyed with my dinner. This I believe is at its peak now.
July 16/23:
Pulled out the cork last night to finish the remaining 3/4’s Very enjoyable again with NY Strip steak and the added time in glass improves wine too.

Red currant, raspberry, blackberry, cigar box, leather; smooth, long, full, silky, extended finish, somewhat linear but very good indeed After 1 Hour: similar but with greater depth, grip, penetration, complexity, and fruit; excellent After 2 Hours: again resembling earlier state but somewhat more muted and slightly less enticing; a good classic claret, very much in its drinking window
