Having one of these leak in the rack and go downhill I decided to try one with a sound cork and less than 1/4 inch ullage. It's quite good but definitely aged in the brown sugar direction, color is tawny red, soft but full, with lots of fruit/vegetable stall and some spice notes, no bacon fat or oak. It went well with the food. Think I have a couple more of these in the two racks I have yet to inventory, need to find and time to drink.

This one developed a leak in the rack. The ullage was about 1 inch. It was still hanging on to life but barely, had the cork held it would have probably been wonderful. As it was it was not oxidized but just tired, some fruit, good acid but it was a wounded soldier and after the first glass the balance was consigned to the vinegar stock.

The last of several bottles I bought many years ago, because of the good reviews. This is a wonderful Pinot, still very nice after 20 years of bottling. Plenty of cherry fruit flavor and aromas, nicely balanced, and a surprising spicy finish. Wish I had more.

Pinot at Jim's (Jim's): Old Pinot less intense that many in this tasting but still nice.
