Sunday Night Dinner (Eric & Megan's - Chicago): A really nice showing this time around. Elegant with beautiful floral notes, red berries, and some wet leaves. Palate was supple and nicely accessible.

A restrained and elegant style of pinot, with gentle floral aromas that lead to some firm red fruits and spice on the palate; Still has some structure intact making me think this isn't going downhill anytime soon

This is one of those wines that can make people fall in love with Burgundy. Humble, shy, quiet...a wallflower. Sit back and sip on this with some duck or stewed mushrooms and you realize its greatness. Such a floral and feminine pinot hard to imagine this drinking much better.

Humble Burgundy at Chez Simo (Chicago, IL): This had a nose that was classic '99 -- rich and ripe fruit. They say that Burgundy lovers don't like fruit. That's totally untrue... it's the jamminess that they can't stand. Anyway, this had none of that. It was clear this was a very ripe and rich wine, but it held together with its firm structure and acidity. This stuff is the real deal. Drinking great now.
