Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Really drinking quite nicely for young Evesham Wood. There's a lot of fruit as you would expect from this low-yielding vintage that is bright, red and raspberry-oriented. Suave and sophisticated mouthfeel that is more delicate than powerful allows fruit to slide easily over the mid-palate. Back end of wine is crystalline with bright fruit, spice, stem and earth notes playing lightly on a soft bed of tannins. This is a discreet wine with lovely feminine attributes. Won't thrill those looking to be bowled over (try the 2004 Patricia Green Cellars Broadway Cuvee for that experience) but this will reward far more cellaring and will likely show more density as it takes on some bottle age. Delicious now but there is no rush to put these away.
