Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 87.3 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 28 notes)

Tasted by MountainMak on 3/1/2009 & rated 89 points: great citrus notes .. touch of grass ...nice and acidic. too bad it was my last bottle. (620 views)
Tasted by Oski98 on 1/15/2009 & rated 87 points: Color is essentially white with a tinge of gold. Very crisp, with a nice tartness to the finish, which I find appealing. Grapefruit and freshly cut grass comes to mind (seems in line with other reviews). This wine appears to be holding up well, so I think the suggested CT drinking window (2007 to 2008) may be a bit narrow. I would think if this is stored properly it would hold up through 2009 (though I can't imagine my supply lasting past this summer). (640 views)
Tasted by Acohen on 12/31/2008 & rated 89 points: still fresh with good citrus (682 views)
Tasted by Acohen on 6/29/2008 & rated 90 points: Grapefruit lime and nice acidity (917 views)
Tasted by R-T on 6/12/2008 & rated 86 points: crisp and refreshing, or sour and citrus, you choose! The palate on this one is dominated by sharp grapefruit. Interesting and good SV-B. (992 views)
Tasted by R-T on 4/27/2008 & rated 85 points: Reasonably good, characteristic Sv B. Great value (1227 views)
Tasted by dom418 on 3/1/2008 & rated 89 points: A little less Crisp and Acidic than I remember from last time. Still a nice fresh, refreshing Sav Blance, especially for the money. (1610 views)
Tasted by jfp on 2/4/2008 & rated 88 points: Very light yellow and bursting with fresh grass and honeysuckle aromas. On the palate this is sharply acidic, where the flavors develop into powerful grapefruit with an interesting honey note. Sharp, clean, and puckering finish. Very refreshing and a good value.  Tasted by drdebs on 10/21/2007 & rated 89 points: Consistent with last note, and still drinking well. Fresh, bright, and lively with nice balance. Sorry I have only one more bottle! (2086 views)
Tasted by Lucky Jim on 9/3/2007 & rated 85 points: Not horrible by any means, but I won't buy again. (2244 views)
Tasted by djs on 8/26/2007 & rated 85 points: (1818 views)
Tasted by Acohen on 8/12/2007 & rated 89 points: crisp and clean with good acidity and nice lemon and gooseberry (2214 views)
Tasted by yeastbeast on 7/9/2007 & rated 83 points: A crisp, citrusy quaffer that accompanied my lunch of herring and quinoa/corn/feta salad. Nothing fancy, but an excellent summer beverage for its price. (2366 views)
Tasted by bahiadave on 7/7/2007: quite good (2480 views)
 Tasted by dom418 on 6/11/2007 & rated 89 points: (1846 views)
Tasted by wordstar on 6/2/2007 & rated 82 points: (2038 views)
Tasted by Acohen on 6/2/2007 & rated 88 points: Lots of grapefruit and tight acidity. Great by the pool (2450 views)
Tasted by Rob MacKay on 6/2/2007 & rated 85 points: Quite surprised by the color. This is about as white as white wine can get. If you bottled it in a clear bottle you would think it was bottle water. Once you drop your nose in the glass you know right away that this is a sav blanc. Not as grassy on the nose as a California sav blanc and a little more lemony citrus scents. Good acidity and very crisp. A great value summer wine. (2653 views)
 Tasted by dom418 on 5/30/2007 & rated 89 points: (1863 views)
Tasted by drdebs on 5/27/2007 & rated 89 points: Texbtook example of a Marlborough sauvignon blanc. Pale, almost watery color with tangy aromas of cut grass and citrus rind. The palate is predominantly white grapefruit and a bit of lemon, but the grass notes are reintroduced in the juicy finish. Exceptional value. (2529 views)
Tasted by dom418 on 5/21/2007 & rated 89 points: Crisp, refreshing, the perfect summer "patio" wine, hard to pass up for $11. (2256 views)

Taste: This beautiful Sauvignon Blanc screams the classic essence of the Marlborough region in New Zealand. Aromas of lovely floral components, fresh cut grass, white peach and wet stone. Sipping this luscious white brings out a phenomenal burst of grapefruit followed by apricot and honeysuckle. This wine is 100% stainless steel fermented and grips your pallet with a nice bracing acidity making it a perfect compliment to Mediterranean fare like oysters on the half shell.

Cameron Confidential: The world-renowned region of Marlborough is on the northern-most end of the South island of New Zealand and of course, known for producing world-class Sauvignon Blanc. This is from a grower group we are looking to partner with in the near future. They have some of the best holdings in Marlborough and just sick to death of getting their great grapes lopped into pricing contracts that treat like the grapes born in lesser soils. They built their own winery a few years ago and hired one of the best winemakers in the area to produce their wines. This wine is juicy and ripe with some seriously bracing acidity, I love it! Look for us to get bigger into Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.....
