Decanted for 3 hours and this opened up some for me. Still abundant high toned fruits. Overall , great depth and finish but lacking in balance as this must be 5 plus years out from its prime, at least for me. Either decant this for 5 plus hours now or hold. At least this held its own against a dry aged ribeye and bone marrow. Revisit 2030

My first Ornellaia and it was a winner. Explosive aromatics with cassis, black currant, violet, mint, a hint of anise, a bit of leather and cigar. The palate is still fresh and dense and full of energy. Tannins are still present but becoming more sauve and the depth is first rate. Lovely stuff. Loads of time ahead.

8 decades tasting. Good wine. Aromatically complex. Spices, dark fruit, cedar, licorice. Appealing. For some of the guests a notch too much. Fresh acidity. Ripe tannins give structure. Could be more dense with a longer finish. Does not compare to Haut Brion 1988.
