  A very well structured chianti with great concentration, complexity and integrated tannins. This 1997 was a great year, and one can feel the warmth in the wine. Was opened 1 hour in the bottle and no decanting. It still drank well, Open at least 1h as it removes that dustiness.

  My last one. Showing strong for the age on the bottle. Dark garnet color, meaty, with some outstanding oak on the palate. Chewy for Chianti a la nod to Fontodi. Still plenty of life left. Wish there was less extraction, but it also could have been the vintage showing off. Still in a good spot. Needs something substantial to eat with the wine.

  Dusty, light smoke on the nose. Tannins soft but still long and lingering. Fresh blackberry pie, sour cherry tart, terroir-forward, bit of gravel/dirt. Happy unexpected find in the cellar!

Dark fruit and spices on the palate. Medium finish. Great balance, with tannins still evident but soft. A great example of aged CCR. Drink now but will hold for a few more years if well stored.
