Pop and pour - note after 2 hours. Nose of pencil shavings, earth and mushrooms - classic Bordeaux. Earth on the palate - a bit of a metallic finish. This was best right out of the bottle and began to fall apart rather quickly. Time to drink up.
The final bottle from my case and certainly one of the best. Lovely harmony and finesse, delicious ripe fruit, cream, warm oak, a cool aspect from the light sandy soils, very good length, elegant and with finely grained tannins, carried by lovely juicy acidity; a hint of volatility on the finish only adds to the charm. Now.
This is what mature Bordeaux is all about. Nose of leather and cherry. Had some smooth tannins but they were still present with black cherry and earth. Very nice finish. Liked this better than the Pontet Canet we had the some night.
