  • A top grade Pinot. Popped and poured. Excellent nose, medium body,a good finish

  • Shared at a Brazilian BBQ. Earthy qualities developed in bottle did not overshadow nicely ripe fruit. Balanced and flavorful, if not long and lasting. A wine for food that was enjoyed by all.

  • First wine consumed from new Riedel Oregon Pinot Noir glasses. Color (5/5): Beautiful clear ruby maroon with slow legs. Nose (12/15): Plush and full Pinot barnyard funk of cherry mushroom. Interestingly it is kind of creamy too. You could do aromatherapy with this bouquet. Palate/Finish ( 14/20): Palate matches the nose with a slight bit of heat on opening (that goes away with air). Next to no tannin, but what's there is felt as structure that'd be missed if it weren't there. The finish is long and has that creamy undertone like the nose. Potential/Quality (7/10): Another triumph by Byron. Well-crafted bridge between New and Old World styles that is drinkable now, but will probably be better if held for a year or two (drink the 2004 now instead). Should improve over that time and remain drinkable for at least ten more.

  • Barnyard is more pronounced in the nose and is joined by a delicious brown suger scent. Cherry with warm spice and dirt bombs on the palette. Paired to perfection with duck breast (S. Goin).

  • Popped and served. Bright garnet in color. Nose of earth, alcohol, black pepper and strawberries. Full bodied with luscious and slightly hot wine with cherries and vanilla in the mouth. Good acidity and round tannins now. This fruit forward wine is drinking well overall with the exception that the alcohol seems to stand out a bit.
