Slight frizzante at first, this is showing with enormously bright tart cranberry notes. Had it with roast chicken and it went perfectly. Truly needs food. Screwcap.

Out of the decanter at cellar temp, nice floral aromatics and super crisp dark cherry, raspberry and blackberries over rocks. Three hours later, and warmed to room temperature, it gains considerable depth and interest. Herbs (fennel, sage, mint), plums, and a soy/mushroom/umami layer wrap and intertwine with the earlier red fruits. More minerality makes an appearance, even as the wine as a whole gets more savory. Hard to imagine this without food (roasted chicken / rice / veggies), and by far the best bottle of this wine I've had - also the best domestic Gamay. Off to hunt up some more, if it's still out there. [And hoping my 08's turn into this!]

This wine is holding on nicely. Still fresh and crisp with a complex peppery finish that beckons me back to the glass again and again.
