  • This was good, not great. The nose was lovely and was reasonably open from the start. Definitely has developed some secondary notes with leaf litter and some sanguine/iron notes alongside the fruit; the fruit was more in the dried red berry zone; surprisingly not super dark; smells very Corton; the palate was slightly tannic still with the grip of the tannins feeling somewhat dominant; with air and food this certainly improved and I suspect had I decanted it for an hour or 90 min before hand it would have been better. The depth was good, but it felt as if the tannins were not allowing the full view. The question is will they resolve before the fruit and everything else fades away. I'm not sure. An enjoyable wine for sure; the nose alone was great and if you enjoy more tannic heft this would be right up your alley.

  • Drinking nicely after a 45 minute decant. No residual tannins. The fruit is still fresh. Light to medium body. This wine is in it's prime drinking window with no signs of secondary changes. Enjoy!

  • Light red color. Delicious PN aromas with ripe red berries and a touch of spices. Soft, light and delicious on the palate, and a lot more mature than a bottle tasted two years ago.

  • WineBerserkers dinner (Chicago, IL): Very accessible for a young Corton, though I am guessing a large part of it is due to the lighter, stem-heavy style of the house. Quite perfumed, with the stem spice really showing on the forefront of the nose. The palate is less effusive than the nose, and the fruit shows a bit on the tart side. Plenty of tannins still; good potential here, but given the lightness of the fruit, this may not be the best candidate for very long aging.

  • This has improved considerably and now in the window. Red fruit nose. Still very good fruit on the palate but now with some forrest floor. Excellent length. No hurry to drink remaining bottles.

(Domaine Chandon de Briailles Corton-Bressandes) Medium cherry red color with pale meniscus; cinnamon, tart red fruit and green peppercorn nose; tart, stemmy, red fruit, roses and mineral palate with depth, surprisingly approachable now, but seems like it may have too many moving parts to hang together harmoniously as it ages; medium-plus finish 90+ pts.
