A really stellar wine. On the nose, raspberry, red currant, and soy sauce with hints of sauvage. The mouthfeel is still oh so young for an 05. Loads of acidity that have mellowed along with tannins that have resolved. This is right in my sweet spot. The palate confirms the juicy raspberry while adding earth and petrichor notes on the long lasting and structure finish filled with cedar and soy sauce.

Beatiful brick color and long legs. Expeessive nose full of ripe fruit, cedar, tobacco and hint of vanilla evidencing barrique. In mouth you confirm all your nose findings with a beaituful mid palate. Acidity is surprinsigly still preset (for a 2005) balanced with a medium acohol and still present tannins. Improved after 45 mins. I truly enjoyed this wine.

Blinded. Mellow red fruit, with a medicinal cherry note. Loads of structure on the palate, with notable oak influence. Guessed young Oregon pinot. fail.. :D I guess the grand cru oak treatment shows? I've yet had a Corton that really justified its Grand Cru classification, but then again the pricing reflects a solid 1er, and they are generally solid values.

Vineyard Gate: Chandon de Briailles' Pure 2005 Burgundies (Millbrae, CA): Dark, relatively monolithic nose of red fruit. Medium palate complexity. Moderate tannins. Still seems to show some potential in the complexity. From 2013.
