A pristine bottle, early-mid maturity to my taste. The vintage gives it roundness atypical for classic Chablis but there is still good acidity and lots of depth. A terrific wine. Great with grilled white-fleshed fish.

2005 was an abnormally warm vintage in Burgundy, especially in Chablis. Served this curve ball blind to friends and no one managed to call the region. To be fair I wouldn’t have been able to call this Chablis based on the richness and the ultra-ripe citrus fruits. Creamy minerals, salinity, bright seashells, ripe lemon, Premier Cru weight with adequate acidity, similar level to 2009. Showing signs of underbrush but still maturing very slowly even in a weak vintage. (88/100)

Another terrific bottle, 2/2 so far. Shows the ripeness of the vintage with deep yellow fruits and a touch of butter to go with the minerals, leading to a long dry finish. Because of the ripeness it was a great match for steamed lobster with melted butter

Heresy-Paella Night with French Wines (Contigo, San Francisco): Medium yellow with glint of green. Forthcoming aromas of flowers and seashell. Medium weight, some perceptible oak, beautifully layered feel. Superb citrus/acid balance with background brine and iodine. At a great stage now and one of the best bottles of '05 La Forest I've had.

(Dauvissat-Camus Chablis 1er Cru La Forest) Lovely mineral and oyster shell citrus nose; tasty, elegant, rounded lemon with good acidity and minerals at edges; medium finish 91+ pts.
