Slow-O 4 hours, served sid-by-side with the 05 Cross Barn. Consistent with the bottle I had in March 2012, this is absolutely at peak. More open-knit and less structured than the 05, this should be consumed over the next 12-18 months for best enjoyment. A good wine, but not a great wine. My last of a case purchased on release, it lived up to its $45 price-tag. 14,5% abv, drink thru 2013

Slow-O one hour. My fifth time with this wine in the past 3 years. Still maintaining a dark ruby core, only slight bricking toward the edge. Showing the vintage quite well, this is completely open for business. Unlike previous bottles, this managed a bit more balance, with acids and tannins framing the wine nicely. The palate was not as interesting as the 2005 Crossbarn I opened at the same time. My friends preferred the 04, me the 05. Worked well with a mushroom risotto with braised fennel and pancetta, but overall, this was good not great. Drink thru 2014, 14,5% abv, score: B+

Lots of fruit, still young and vibrant. Black cherry, black raspberry, pencil lead, meat flavors. Served with rack of lamb; excellent pairing.
