14.3% alcohol. only two other bottles of this in the entire CT! community? yikes! well, if you or i had taken this to an offline, not decanted (tonight, i didn't either), then taken a 2 oz. taste...too bad, 'cause we would have missed out. but, having the luxury of a lone bottle, virtually all to myself over almost 6 hours, i really got to witness the expansion of this wine into a very solid performer. i would say it changed around 3 hours. kaboom! my favorite black cherry, and some red raspberry provided an inner core of fruit that was wrapped in some residual oak and tannin. once that started to melt away, the finish lost some tartness, and became nicely rounded. mild earth/forest floor/mushroom...extending into some currant? useless prose, really. i enjoyed this very much, and you can continue to cellar with confidence; almost at peak...drink or hold.
