Fruit and floral nose, also developed some leather and tar after 2 hours open. A little rough around the edges still, more time in glass improved this wine, would suggest more tme. Notes of cassis, blueberry, cigar, vanilla, and something savory too like sardines or something I couldn't quite put my finger on. Still a bit tannic, some new oak on finish. Tasted with the 2001 20 Barrels and the '01 was more evolved and complex, however this wine also picked up complexity with more time in glass, telling me this will improve for some years yet. All and all a nice wine that is quite pleasant now and has some short term cellaring potential.
ChTR kokous 7.4.2010 (SKO-toimisto): Decanted for an hour. This was amazingly dark, almost black with a garnet tinged edge. The nose was very expressive with lots and lots of cassis and a hint of oak coming through, some even thought there was petrol in the aromas. On the palate also lots and lots of cassis, but in a good way, not a disjointed fruit bomb, but lots of fruit and good acidity to back it up, also nice smooth tannins. I bought this a couple of years ago and it has been in the cellar since. A very nice full-bodied Cab with lots of everything in nice proportions. Great stuff! 50+5+11+16+8=90
Cono Sur Tasting (Centrax): Big, rich nose. Blackberry fruit. Clean, medium bodied cab. It's good, but not really that distinctive. Earth finish. Well balanced. Very little to complain about, but very little to praise, either.
