  • Continues to be a strong, earthy burgundy with plenty of meat on the bone. Deeply color. Slightly wild nose with dark fruit, dirt and wild herbs. Full palate feel with good flavor depth. The acid remains elevated in a sweet / tart sort of way. Rustic in a good way. Fun wine. (90)

  • Deep garnet color. Lovely nose of cranberry, some tobacco. Bright fruit of crunchy cranberry, some tobacco. It has more acid than I would expect but also more mouthfeel. Tobacco on the finish. Overall quite good especially since I got it last month for only $15.00.

  • Boy is this wine coming on strong. Typical 2005 garnet color with a dark center. Textured Pinot and spice show on the gutsy, penetrating nose. The palate has matured and come together beautifully. I would say this is at its apex and should remain there for 5 to 7 more years. A vibrant, classic, slightly rustic wine that was a terrific purchase - just needed time. (90)

  • Beautiful pure garnet color still showing a youthful hue. Dusty / earthy mushroom and black cherry nose. Rock solid wine. Maturing palate. Good flavor saturation that lingers in the palate. Good structure / acid makes this a terrific food wine. Great value / easy to open Burgundy that is authentic and enjoyable. Well done. To drink over the next 7 years. (91)

  • This is seriously good, inexpensive Burgundy. The pretty ruby color shows no signs of age. The nose has wonderful fruit purity with some earthy / mushroom noses - maybe a touch of ginger as well. The wine is fresh and juicy with high acidity. Fruit is beginning to mature. Should continue to improve for a good many years - only concern is whether the fruit and structure will mature together. There is a chance that the acid could dominate the fruit. My bet is for positive evolution. (89?)
