Charleston VI; 11/3/2021-11/7/2021 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): Admittedly this is one of my favorite producers in the region which I'm sure colors my thinking. This is more woodsy again and not the clear fruit that I tend to love. Very light though and elegant. Maybe a background of pomegranate? And some rosewood? Nice.

BWC X1 Dinner - Hawksmoor: So open, so lovely. A hint of cherry cola, but in the nicest way. This is ready for business and pulls you in. 1/8 of a glass was not enough - this would have been a wonderful wine to contemplate over the course of an evening. Thanks M for bringing this - very nice!

Roumier's 2001 Clos de la Bussière is delicious but still quite youthful tonight with an appealing mix of rusticity and sappy berry, some gamebird, really quite nice. Medium full in body with teeny but grippy tannins and a fine acidity. Very good and well-stored bottles should drink well for another decade.

(Roumier Morey St. Denis 1er Cru "Clos de la Bussiere") An interesting wine that proved to be a little green, acidic and tannic for my taste. Although I am sure I did not let it breath long enough as it really started to come around during the last glass. The nose was very mushroomy, green peppery with some suggestions of red fruit. Definetly on the rustic and wild side. The palate had pretty tart fruit that started to develop sweetnes later on. Good stuff but I think needs time. Still a startlingly aromatic wine at this point
(Roumier Morey-St-Denis 1er Cru "Clos de la Bussiere") 2001 is quickly becoming my favorite Burgundy vintage of recent for its transparency of terroir. It just shines through in the wines. This just exploded out of the glass with exotic Indian spices, red berry fruit and some earth. Supple and lacey on the palate with the classic Roumier crunch on the finish. Gorgeous and has many years to go.
(Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Clos de La Bussière) Nice sous bois, tart cherry, white pepper nose; tart strawberry, mineral palate with good acidity; medium finish

Mine (double decanted midafternoon), . Gains complexity in glass, darker fruits, smoked meat, earth, I like a lot A-/B+

Chas Offlineorama VI, Another embarrassment of riches; 11/3/2021-11/7/2021 (Various locations): Fizzy? (I think over objections that there was a tiny bit of secondary ferm) Cherry, raspberry, more Roumier than Morey, but still forest air and some dark cranberry.
