12.5% alcohol. This is, without a doubt, the finest Zinfandel I've ever drunk. What a remarkable wine. Bright red color. Absolutely unreal nose of bright, racy red fruit, earth, spice, and leather notes, along with a lurking minerality. In the mouth, vibrant and youthful, with forward, juicy fruit that will fool you for a much, much younger wine, and it is very much in keeping with the Zeigler Vineyard's vibrant fruit structure. Caressing in the mouth, with exceptional layers of complexity that go with that uncanny fruit. This is less claret-like than, say, a well-aged Ridge Zinfandel, but it is a pure, beautiful wine that stands on its own merits without braoder comparison. Smooth, balanced, and showing a feminine side as it lets its earthy perfume reveal, this wine ends up in a long finish that is just delightful. A treasure. A
