This drank beautifully after some air. Corvined prior to have a taste and was very restrained, medium bodied, showed cherry. Open for two hours in the bottle and the wine changed completely. Turned medium-full bodied. Mature, dark dried cherry and blackberry. Integrated tannins. Really great and worth every penny of the $80 I paid for it at Last Bottle. Drink now-2020. I think this can still go a bit, but I would not push it that much further unless you were sure of the cellar quality. I got lucky.

From 1.5L. Nice core of deep fruit flavors still present with very soft tannins. This vintage of Pahlmeyer lacks a little of the wineries signature depth and nuisance it's still very enjoyable and surprisingly youthful. Likely helped by being from a 1.5L bottle.

Initially the Oak was overwhelming with too many weedy and green brussel sprouts. After a couple hours the wine settled in and the fruit began to come through. Some strawberry notes behind the blackberries, but this is clearly not one of Pahlmeyer's best vintages. 2000 was a tough year for many in Napa and this wine lacks the depth of fruit, the spice and the layering that I enjoy in the better vintages. A very good wine, but even at $45 at auction, I'll pass over this vintage.
