  Oops. Accidentally drank this one instead of keeping him. Oh well, it was in good nick. Really deep and dark purple with little signs of age. Yep, should have put him at the back of the cellar. The nose was intense but fresh Shiraz, not cloying or forced. The palate was pretty full-on but well balanced. There is something about Clare Valley Shiraz which appeals to me a little more than your average Barossa Shiraz, and this wine showed it. Power and finesse. There were some tertiary elements sneaking in on the end of the palate, but all in all it was still very primary. Very drinkable. It's a shame this winery no longer exists other than as a label.

  How impressive was this wine? Deep plum purple with little sign of age, this wine filled up the glass. Loads of sediment left behind after a decant. Full-on nose of ripe blackfruits and berries and just a hint of oak, this was still quite primary. The palate confirmed this being all berries and fine tannin with a lusciousness found mainly in younger Aussie Shiraz. 13% OH was refreshing as was the finish. Very drinkable indeed. We have one more downstairs, so I think we will keep him for another 4-5 years at least.

  Full bodied, smooth, well balanced & structured, mature but still primary fruit evident, excellent cork, still some strong tannins
