Nice expressive nose is very subtle. 'Forest floor' dominates the fruit on the nose, a little funky. Light amber in colour. Fruit is nice on initial palate, but wine is somewhat simple. Not a lot of depth and complexity here. Hard to see this evolving from here.

The aromas is kinda special, sweet durian and earth with hollow core of sweet cherry fruits, lack of tension that I thought is a little diluted and when I drank it, it happened that the palate matched the impression of the nose. Rich entry but quickly drop off on the mid palate as well as finishing, simple and this is quite bitter and funky with earth. Probably an off bottle? Buy - No.

Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin Singapore - Chapitre des Coteaux et Climats (Nicolas Potel / Roche de Bellene) (Salt Bar and Grill by Lucas Mangan, Ion Orchard): Pretty good. The dinner started getting a little rushed by this time, and this flight of two Gevrey 1er Crus threatened to be sipped and tipped as the two Grand Crus were lurking. Pity, because I thought this wine needed a little bit of time to appreciate, especially coming as it did before the more immediately pleasing Combe aux Moines. The nose was quite typical Lavaux, with its savoury earth and meat scents, alongside spice notes, dusky red fruits and dark cherry notes. The palate had more of that meatines forming a base for some rather snappy cherry and plum flavours. Nice 2002 fruit here, with its pleasantly dark edge and abundance of strength. Firmish tannins and fresh balance added to the mix, making this a pretty nice wine.

Nicolas potel: roche de bellene; 1/24/2011-1/26/2011 (Salt @ ion orchard): A bit reductive with chocolatey dark soy sauce and feather notes. Old fruit notes. Kinda tired.
