Decanted and let it sit for an hour or two. Delicious - nice dark and deep fruits, with nice elegance tossed in for good measure. Good acidity as well - nice palate, nice long and dark finish with a lingering slight oaky warmth.
Dark, deep, herbal but ripe on the nose. Mature but not over-the-hill. Good amount of fruit on the palate, tannins are at a perfect stage. Good structure for a wine of this volume. Acid keeps it all in check. Had it with spicy Popeye's. Strange but for some reason I really like the pairing.
