Still a little tannic, but drinking quite well. Decanted an hour before drinking, might have been better to decant a bit earlier. Plums, berries, enjoyable. Still some life left in it.

Very tannic out of the gates and wound tight. 20 minute decant and it started showing currants, black fruits, red plum, cedar, graphite and pencil shavings. The cab franc here lends a bit of herbal tones (not greenness). After 1h of decanting the tannins smoothed somewhat and carried this through on a nice medium+ finish. This could age longer but with a little air this is drinking well now. Tannins need food (had with grilled chicken, grilled lamb and rice).

(Château Balestard La Tonnelle) Dark red violet; big port and kirsch-like nose; tight blackberry, blueberry fruit, but lacks complexity; short medium finish (50% new oak, 50% in one-year-old oak)

Nice, oaky, a bit dry berry, but sophisticated. I'd buy it again.
