Fill level top shoulder, cork had slightly receded into the neck of the bottle. Nicely evolved around the rim, dark centre, bright and clear. Very nice nose of truffles, incense, earth, tobacco, dark fruit, spice box. On the palate not too much fruit, good structure, quite grippy still with great freshness, lots of earthy, spicy notes and really good length. A bit drying. Much more robust and "masculine" than the 1983 Palmer tasted last week, but still very impressive. Past its peak but no rush. 92-94
Still very young! The nose intensity is very good and the palate with good structure. Deep red ruby color, with red currant, berry, mint. No need to breathe too much, half an hour should be fine. Behind the fruit there are spices, tobacco and some forest nose appear. an outstanding wine!
Although it seems can age for few more years, I will choose to enjoy the wine at this moment.

(Chateau Montrose St-Estèphe) A darker, treacle coloured wine. Black fruit on the nose, with a touch of rubber and marked, gravelly undertones. This wine is very different - probably the St-Estèphe. A slim, elegant, black fruit palate. Peppery notes, good balance, altogether a lovely wine.
