Dork No Rhone tasting. Ringer? Sweet and ripe as would be expected for '03. Definitely new world with some age. Pleasant but wouldn't hold these any longer.

On the nose lifted aromas of sweet oak and chocolate. Medium bodied, vibrant, sweet palate delivering chocolate, oak and some dark fruit.Very low levels of tannins and acidity, giving it a flabby mouthfeel. Dominated by sweet chocolaty oak. Flattened a bit with more airtime in the glass. Overall, this was a decent quaffer but I prefer more the european or australian style to make syrah.

Great Syrah, I will miss this as its my last bottle. Solid fruits and spice, doesn't linger as much on the back palate as it used to however. Great value. Just a wonderful example of the awesome Syrah's coming out of the Walla Walla and Columbia Valley regions.

Very solid. Gordon Brothers make a great Syrah and for the money, it's tough to beat. Their 2007 is AMAZING if you can find it... The 2003 is still holding one with great flavors of black berries, plums, white pepper, and a hint of clove???
