What a great opportunity to try this bottle from my birth year last night. It still has it, assuming you share my affinity for highly aged reds in which most of the fresh fruit is gone, but there's still the hint of some, and you like the elegant long flavors of age. I immediately asked my friend if he has more, because I'd buy it. Sure, it's on its long decline, but in my rating of 92, I'd pick this "92 experience" over anything far younger that I rate 92. What a wonderful chance to drink true Napa history in a bottle.

Nearly 50 year old CA cab...held up fine. I think this is the end and glad this was my last one. It opened with a sherry like quality, but as it sat and we enjoyed, it opened up and evolved into a really elegant, soft wine. Drink it if you've got it.

Double decanted; ruby/garnet red but little bricking; initial impression was of dry tart red current berries; after 2 hrs of air it had put on weight; red raspberry and tart red plum flavors; bouquet became a little spicy with undertones of moist leafy forest floor; very smooth palate but not too light, still has balance and depth; med long finish with a light tannic dusting. CT drink date of 2025 is too long, I'd say drink as soon as you have a chance to enjoy a subtle, elegant Napa cab.

Flinty, dusty, earthy nose, with some underlying red fruit, currant. Sour, smoky, red fruit on the palate, holding up well. Still with medium to medium plus acidity, and a nice graceful finish. Good life to it for such an old bottle of CA.

Technically drinkable, but very little fruit left, dusty, ashy.
