Very mature, but still kicking, showing complex aromas of dried cherries or plums, green pepper, boxwood, leather and spice. Lots of flavor left with layers of dark berry fruits, leather and spice showing on the palate. Supple acidity and some fine tannins keep this lively and food friendly.
A little disappointing when we first opened this however the longer it was left to breathe the better it tasted in fact it tasted better the next day! Became more full bodied, peppery, smoother with a lingering taste on the palate. wouldn't go out of my way to pay $48nz again for this.
