Screwcap, petrol nose. Deep golden color. Still youthful with good acidity and vibrant flavors. The screwcap helped to preserve the freshness I think as this seemed possibly new world and definitely younger than 17. Long drinking window is open.

Dry with a noticeable waxy character, as expected from the semillon component. The white fruits, whilst slightly diminished is still fresh, and there are caramel and honeysuckle notes developing. Drinking well at the moment.

A fine showing here still. There's been a little bit of bottle variation even with the integrity of a screw cap (and one badly reduced bottle), but this is still a solid wine with freshness and concentration. Tarragon and mineral highlight the citrus profile. There is what appears to be a dollop of wood, but I think it is more the nutty savoriness of maturity more than barrel.

(BLANC La Louviere) Bordeaux Dear Friends, Here are two fabulous deals on 2005 Bordeaux (yes, 2005, not 2006 or 2007) and both are priced to drink without trepidation. One thing is for sure, if I purchased either of these on first tranche back in 2006, I would be mighty angry right now considering the prices are less tonight... 2005 Chateau La Louviere Pessac-LÄognan (Graves) (NM91) This red Bordeaux is just starting to come into its own and it will be even better with another 3-5 years at slumber. If you try it now, decant for at least 3-4 hours or it will appear non-descript (it isn't). I recall tasting this medium-bodied wine on release and it was tough to evaluate. Not anymore - there is a glimmer of light off on the horizon and the patient will chuckle 5-10 years from now when they remember its price. Parker's review is odd and it makes me think there were multiple bottlings of this wine back in 2007 (my impression is from the stock we have on the way and it is far closer to Neil Martin's note below which stretches the drinking window all the way out to 2025): 2005 Chateau La Louviere Pessac-LÄognan Blanc (Graves) (NM91) I receive a large number of complaints about the high cost of Bordeaux Blanc and they are usually justified. Tonight's your chance to try a Sauvignon-heavy example at a laugh of a price for true Pessac-LÄognan. This wine was $40 on release two years ago (even over $60 in CT) and while it was probably more vibrant a year ago, I don't think anyone will mind. You're joking? No, it's not a joke especially considering La Louviere's Blanc always appears to be in need of immediate consumption but somehow defies the odds and typically ages for a decade or more. I wouldn't count this out just yet... Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Bord4110 Bord4120

Clearly a Sauvignon Blanc driven wine (85%) with its earthy, grassy character. Very much melded and classy. Lingering finish. 90+
