It's probably less complex than it used to be, but it drank nicely. Dark ruby color. Lots of dark berry and stone fruit and coffee on the nose. I taste blackberry and raspberry. Its rick, but short finish.

I decanted this right away, and marveled at the dark ruby color. It's so vibrant on the nose: cassis and red plum fruit aromas are backed up by coffee, tobacco and potting soil. On the palate, this wine shows a very dark and herbal quality. There's a Polish liquer with herbs and spices that I've had several times, and it really comes to mind while sipping this. The tannins are firm and dry, and the cassis and blackberry fruit is rich and dense. The ginger root, bitter coffee and tobacco qualities came out more with time, and got more and more complex. It's like Napa cabernet meets Loire Valley cabernet franc. A simply beautiful wine, and I'd say it has a good two or four years ahead of it. Drank with Ian Mc.

Notes of blackberry with tobacco and pepper. This has some real character but seems a bit rough.
