I was served this blind. From the 'dustiness' on the nose I guessed Napa Cab. This was P'n'P, so at first it tasted a bit rough and astringent. There was a bit of violet on the palate, which I find attractive, and made me think CdP. But the other red fruit, a tasty and complex bit of greeness brought me back to a Meritage. I guessed 2006 from the still rich color.

44% Cab, 39% Cab Franc, 17% Merlot. 30% from Oakville Ranch, 25% Stagecoach, remainder Napa Valley.
Lovely 'second' label from one of my favorite CA wineries, and at $28 a great value.
Served with homemade heirloom tomato soup and ground beef and cheese quesadillas.

Dark red, viscous wine with wonderful dark fruits and lingering tannins.

Wonderful wine. Deep and complex with nice tannis and fruit. Served with a Grilled KC Strip for Mothers Day.

Nice. Light and clean. Very different from the 2001 and 2002.
