Chicago Wine Mafia Offline Dinner (Chateau VinoMe): Scubarex brought this wine. I think I did this a disservice drinking it after the Prum GKA; but, if Scubarex would have shown up early I wouldn't have had to. It just seemed dry and one dimensional after the Prum. No score.

Upon opening showed somewhat simply with pretty white stone fruits. An hour of air really changed things with the fruit going more in the direction of the bitter side of grapefruit but the finish really developed adding the most minerality I've ever encountered on a wine. The fruit expression was a bit of a negative but the long mineral laden finish really pushed this to the positive. The 2nd day saw the fruit open up more clearly mixing in some quince with the bitterness subsiding and a purer expression of tart fruits coming forward and integrating in a big way with the mineral finish. This performed much differently than my last bottle. A very nice wine begging for some shell fish.

Tasted alongside the 06 regular cuvee from the same producer and Greenblanket slightly preferred the 06 issue. This had a good deal of weight for a Muscadet with some heavier melon sensations on the nose and palate. It featured very nice broken rock minerality throughout to go along with citrus and a mix of softer fruits. Very nice but the 06 carried just a bit more of the nuance and purity that Greenblanket admires in these wines

Perfect Muscadet. Balanced, good acidity, hints of the sea, and fruit. Matched well w/ scallops and lobster.

Fine mineral and grass, but this doesn't outclass Pepiere. Good+
